Eligibility Criteria for Oasis Scholarship 2026-27

1. General Requirements for All Applicants
- Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- Institutions: You must study in an educational institution located within India.
- Academic Record: You must pass the final examination of your previous academic year.

- Application Limit: The portal allows only one application per candidate. If you apply for any other scholarship at the same time, the government will reject your Oasis application.
2. Specific Scheme Eligibility and Income Limits
The government divides the scholarship into Pre-Matric (school level) and Post-Matric (college and higher education) categories.
A. Pre-Matric Scholarships (For School Students)
- Pre-Matric SC Scheme: This scheme supports Scheduled Caste students in Class 9 and Class 10. Your annual family income must not exceed ₹2,00,000.
- Pre-Matric ST Scheme: This scheme supports Scheduled Tribe students in Class 9 and Class 10. Your annual family income must not exceed ₹2,00,000.

Step-by-Step Online Application Process
The West Bengal government has updated the Oasis application system. You must complete a two-part process. First, you need to generate a One-Time Registration (OTR) number on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). After that, you complete your main application on the Oasis website.
Part 1: Generating Your OTR Number (e-KYC via NSP)
You must obtain a unique OTR number. This number remains valid for your entire academic life. You can generate it in two simple phases.
Phase A: Registering on the NSP Website
- Open your web browser and visit the official NSP portal:

- Read the official instructions carefully. Accept the terms and click Submit.
- Enter your active mobile number and the security captcha code. Click Get OTP.
- Enter the verification code you receive on your phone. Click Verify.
- Type your 12-digit Aadhaar number. Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile phone and click Verify.
- Read the Aadhaar Consent form and click I Agree.
- The system will verify your profile and display your Aadhaar details. It will also show your bank Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) verification status.
- Check your details and click Finish. Note down the NSP Reference Number displayed on your screen.

Phase B: Completing Face Authentication
- Grab an Android smartphone. Open the Google Play Store.
- Download and install two official apps: NSP OTR App and Aadhaar Face RD Services App (by UIDAI).
- Open the NSP OTR App on your phone. Select the eKYC by FaceAuth option.
- Enter your NSP Reference Number and tap Send OTP.
- Enter the OTP received on your mobile and type the captcha. Click Next.
- Review your personal details on the screen. Select Proceed for Face Authentication.
- Complete the live face scan. Keep your camera stable and blink when prompted.
- Once the scan succeeds, the app will show your unique OTR Number. Save this number. The system will also send a temporary password to your mobile phone.
Part 2: Registering and Applying on the Oasis Portal
Now, you must complete your registration on the official West Bengal Oasis portal.
1. Start Student Registration:
Go to the official website: [https://oasis.wb.gov.in](https://oasis.wb.gov.in). Find the “Students Corner” on the homepage. Click on Student’s Registration.
2. Select Your District:
Choose the district where your school, college, or university is located. Click Submit. If you study outside West Bengal, select your permanent home address district.
3. Verify Your Caste Certificate:
Enter your Caste Certificate Number and its Issuing Date. Type the captcha code and click Submit to verify your social category.
4. Sync Your Profile:
Enter your newly generated OTR Number and your Aadhaar Card Number. The system will automatically sync your name and certificate details. Click Proceed.
5.Fill Basic Details and Save:
Fill in your father’s name, caste, course type, last exam passed, marks obtained, and phone number. Create a secure login password. Click Submit and download your Acknowledgement Slip containing your Application ID.
6.Log In to Complete Details:
Go back to the Oasis homepage. Click Registered Student’s Log In. Enter your Application ID, Password, and District to access your student dashboard.
7. Submit Further Details and Bank Information:
Click on Step 1 (Further Details) and fill in your address and guardian details. Next, go to Step 2 (Bank Details). Enter your bank account number and IFSC code accurately. Specify your total family income. Click Save and Proceed.
8. Lock and Download Your Form:
Go to Step 3 (Preview Application). Verify all details carefully. Click Verify and Lock Application. Enter the 4-digit OTP sent to your phone to confirm. Click Download Application Form and print the 3-page document.
Important Documents to Submit Offline
After locking your online application, you must print the form. Submit the physical copy along with the following self-attested documents to your educational institution:
- A copy of the printed 3-page Oasis Application Form.
- A recent stamp-sized colored photograph.
- A copy of your Caste Certificate.
- A copy of your Income Certificate (JPEG file under 512 KB must be uploaded online too).
- A copy of the first page of your Bank Passbook showing your account number and IFSC.
- A copy of your Aadhaar Card.
- A copy of the mark sheet and certificate of your last qualifying examination.
How to Renew Your Oasis Scholarship 2026-27
If you received the Oasis scholarship last year, you do not need to register as a fresh candidate. You can simply renew your application:
- Visit
[https://oasis.wb.gov.in]and click on Renew Scholarship under the student’s corner. - Log in using your registered Application ID/User ID and password.
- Review your previously entered profile details. Update your current academic class and marks.
- Verify your bank account details.
- Click Renew and Lock Application.
- Download the generated renewal application form. Print it and submit it to your institution with your latest mark sheet and income certificate.
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Warning
Critical Notice on Payments: The West Bengal government disburses all Oasis scholarship funds through Aadhaar-Based Payments. The system uses the NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) mapper to send funds directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account. You must visit your bank and ensure your bank account is active and seeded with your Aadhaar card. If your bank account is not linked to your Aadhaar, your payment will fail.
